No Google voice? Clearly a skewed article.
None of these meet the search criteria of SECURE CHAT FOR PC. Many family members can not get cell service at home, work, or duty/job sites. A large portion do not even own a mobile device! Facebook, and thereby, What's App, shred privacy. The others demand access to contacts that don't exist! I would rename it to 'Chat systems that only work if attached to a mobile device.'
I agree, it's a completely useless article for those without a phone. The article is also worded wrong, it should be phone AND (then) computer not phone OR computer since you can not sign up with any of these using only a computer.
I completely agree with you. I want an app that will work in my phone and in my PC, even while the phone is with no battery. Or one in the desktop that allows me to contact the people that prefer to use the phone.
Signal ;-)
Forget iMessage. Apple does not make it on the web or for Android/Windows. I don't like that Apple lmits its apps to own platform instead of making for all platforms.
