The Apogee Maestro 2 software is not on the Apogee website as a separate file. Instead, it is installed with the software package for your Apogee interface. For example, if you download and install the Duet for iPad & Mac software, Maestro 2 will automatically be installed and placed in your Applications folder.

Preview to purchase
This is a preview review of the app, as I haven't bought the hardware that it controls yet. Like most of us, I try to do a fair amount of research before making a purchase, and especially where audio gear (my profession) and expensive audio gear (Apogee products rock, but they aren't cheap!) are concerned. Between professional reviews, browsing the manual, and the most important feature of the app for pre-purchase, a simulation mode (that actually prompted this preview review), I now feel ready to purchase and the big question is which model (One, Duet, or Quartet). The simulation mode is an excellent addition that gives you a feel for what is controlled and routable that a manual doesn't give you. Big thumbs up to Apogee for including that to help people like myself make their decisions! Full on review of functionality with hardware coming next week after I purchase the hardware.
